  • My session rate is $300 per 60-minute session for individual or couples therapy. A card is securely kept on file and is charged automatically after each appointment, providing ease and consistency in billing. HSA/FSA cards can also be used, and an invoice is provided for your records.

I am considered an out-of-network provider, meaning clients pay directly and may request a superbill for possible insurance reimbursement.

If you choose to submit a superbill for potential reimbursement, please note that doing so gives your insurance company the right to request clinical information from me to process your claim. While I will always uphold confidentiality, I want you to be fully informed before making that decision.

  • Key Benefits of Private Pay:

    • Maximum Privacy and Confidentiality: Your treatment information, including your diagnosis, is not shared with an insurance company. This provides an additional layer of security for your personal health information.

    • Control Over Your Care: You and your therapist, not your insurance company, decide on your treatment plan. This means more freedom in choosing the frequency, length, and type of therapy that is best for you, without outside limitations.

    • No Formal Diagnosis Required: Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to authorize coverage. With private pay, you can seek support for personal growth, stress management, or life transitions without a formal diagnosis being a permanent part of your medical record.

  • I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. This choice allows me to protect your privacy and provide care guided by your goals—not by insurance-approved treatment plans or their determination of what your needs should be.

When therapy is billed through insurance, companies require a diagnosis, progress updates, or access to sensitive clinical information to determine coverage. By working privately, your sessions remain confidential, and we can move at the pace and depth that best supports you.

  • Under the No Surprises Act (2022), all healthcare providers — including psychotherapists — must give a Good Faith Estimate to any uninsured or self-pay client. This provides a clear overview of your expected therapy costs so you can make informed, confident decisions about your care.

  • Shore & Soul Counseling is based in Indiana and provides therapy exclusively online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. I work with adults and couples throughout the entire state of Indiana, allowing you to access therapy from wherever you feel most comfortable—your home, office, or another private space.

  • All sessions at Shore & Soul Counseling are conducted virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform (currently SimplePractice). Once you schedule your appointment, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a unique, private link to join your session. No software download is required—you simply click the link from your phone, tablet, or computer at your scheduled time.

Before your first session, you’ll complete all intake forms and consent documents electronically, making the process seamless and paper-free. Sessions are held in a private, confidential space designed to meet the same professional standards as in-person therapy.

Many clients find online therapy not only more convenient but also deeply effective—it allows you to access care from the comfort of your own environment, supporting calm, consistency, and ongoing connection no matter where you are in Indiana.

  • Your first session is a calm, welcoming space to begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll start by discussing your goals, history, and what feels most important for you to share right now. I’ll also answer any questions you may have about the process. This session is less about diving into the deepest work and more about creating a sense of safety, clarity, and collaboration. Most clients leave feeling a mix of relief, a sense that something meaningful has begun, and that they are no longer navigating it alone.

  • This is focused, high-level care for those ready for lasting change. If you want to invest in results — feeling regulated, connected, and at peace — the work will be deep and consistent.

You’re always in control of the pace and duration. Your needs, comfort, and readiness guide the process.
